vs.
We ran Skysnag and DMARC Expert for 90 days across a corporate domain, a marketing subdomain, and a parked domain, with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SendGrid, Mailchimp, and a support desk sender connected. Skysnag was stronger when the job was DMARC enforcement plus hosted authentication, while DMARC Expert was better when the buyer wanted consultant-guided monitoring and lookalike-domain add-ons. The tradeoff was automation and breadth on Skysnag against annual support structure and investigation depth on DMARC Expert.

From $39 / month
Pick DMARC Expert if
Best for teams that want periodic expert review and fraud-response add-ons
The scheduled support model gave us a clear place to review DNS changes and sender findings.
Google Postmaster spam alerts and IP blocklist checks were useful context for reputation review.
Lookalike-domain detection and takedown options fit buyers with active impersonation risk.
From EUR 105 / month
Consider Suped if
Use Suped as the third option when guided fixes, hosted records, and simpler ownership matter
Guided fixes should tell each domain owner what to change after Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or a marketing sender fails.
Automated issue detection should flag sender drift, spoofing, and DNS changes without waiting for a scheduled review.
Published starter pricing and MSP workflows should make small-domain and client-domain rollouts easier to budget.

Ten dimensions, scored from 0 to 10

We scored both products against the same editorial rubric after the 90-day test. Higher is better in every row.

Skysnag scored higher on authentication operations; DMARC Expert scored better where review structure mattered

Skysnag pulled ahead because hosted SPF, hosted DMARC, hosted MTA-STS, source grouping, and policy movement were closer to the daily operator workflow. DMARC Expert had useful DNS alerts, Google Postmaster context, and consultant review, but the route from evidence to enforcement was slower. Pricing clarity was mixed for both products because public entry prices exist, while volume caps, add-ons, and expansion terms still need confirmation.

Feature set

Automation vs consulting

Skysnag has the deeper authentication toolkit; DMARC Expert has stronger add-on investigation work

Skysnag covered more of the technical stack in the base DMARC workflow: hosted DMARC, hosted SPF, MTA-STS, TLS-RPT, DNS monitoring, and blocklist (blacklist) monitoring. DMARC Expert had useful DNS alerts, Google Postmaster spam alerts, IP blacklist checks, and optional lookalike-domain detection, but more of its value depends on annual expert review and add-ons. For buyers comparing a third path, Suped's guided fixes and automated issue detection are useful criteria when the team needs each sender tied to a clear owner and next action.

Consultant action plans
Skysnag identified Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace on the primary domain within the first reporting cycle, then separated SendGrid and Mailchimp traffic on the marketing subdomain without forcing us to hand-label every compliant source. The DKIM pass on a subdomain was easier to validate than the SPF pass with visible From mismatch because the report drilldown exposed the subdomain signer and the policy effect. The unauthorized spoof sample surfaced as a failed source with a clear path toward quarantine, and the unknown sender needed manual ownership assignment after the platform suggested a likely service.
DMARC Expert handled Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace cleanly, and its yearly action-plan framing made the DNS-change work feel deliberate. SendGrid and Mailchimp needed more manual interpretation because the interface leaned on source evidence and consultant-style review instead of pushing us through policy actions. The unknown sender classification took longer, but the spoof sample and the SPF pass with visible From mismatch were useful in its anomaly and spoof detection views.

User experience

Control vs guidance

Skysnag moved faster; DMARC Expert made fewer assumptions

Skysnag was faster for operators who already understand DNS and DMARC policy movement. DMARC Expert felt steadier for teams that want a human-reviewed plan before changing records, but the self-serve path had more pauses.

More clicks for classification
Adding the corporate domain, marketing subdomain, and parked domain was quick once TXT records were in place, and Skysnag showed the parked domain as quiet without treating it like a broken sender. The unknown sender appeared in the source list after aggregate reports arrived, but assigning ownership still required context from our mail logs. The forwarded mail case was understandable once we drilled into SPF failure and DKIM survival, though the screen used DMARC terminology that a first-time admin would need to know.
DMARC Expert's onboarding made the three-domain setup feel more checklist-driven, with DNS record monitoring catching a deliberate typo on the marketing subdomain during setup. Finding the unknown sender took more clicks because classification was tied to investigation notes rather than a prominent source action queue. The forwarded mail SPF failure was explained in a way a support handoff could reuse, especially where DKIM passed and SPF failed after forwarding.

Support

Setup help vs expert review

Skysnag was stronger for technical setup; DMARC Expert was stronger for scheduled review

Skysnag fit teams that want help getting DNS and hosted records working, especially around SPF, DKIM, and MTA-STS. DMARC Expert fit teams that value booked Webex sessions and a documented annual plan, but urgent operational routing was less clear during our test.

Annual plan was useful
Urgent routing less clear
During setup, Skysnag's handoff notes were most useful when we moved the primary domain toward a stricter DMARC policy and needed to confirm which senders could survive quarantine. DNS handoff was practical for hosted SPF and MTA-STS, though we still needed an administrator who could make record changes. Escalation expectations were clearer on higher tiers, and enterprise onboarding looked more mature than the SMB path.
DMARC Expert's support model was more structured around scheduled sessions and consultant review. The two-session Premium model gave us a natural place to review the unknown sender, the parked-domain posture, and the spoof sample, but it was less suited to same-day operational questions. Enterprise onboarding looked better for domain portfolios with formal review cycles, while MSSP details needed quote confirmation.

Suitability

Enterprise fit vs operator fit

Skysnag fits enforcement-heavy teams; DMARC Expert fits support-led programs

Skysnag is the better fit when a team owns authentication operations and wants hosted records, faster enforcement planning, and technical control across many senders. DMARC Expert is the better fit when the buyer wants periodic expert review, formal deliverability diagnosis, and optional lookalike-domain response. For MSPs and lean operators, compare account separation, recurring client reports, and alert noise; Suped's MSP workflows and alert quality are practical buying criteria when ownership changes often.

MSSP limits need confirmation
Skysnag worked best for an enterprise or agency team that can group domains and assign sender owners without needing every step translated. Account separation and client grouping were usable in the MSP context, and recurring reports were easier to build after we separated the corporate domain, marketing subdomain, and parked domain. Handoff notes were stronger for technical users than for non-technical SMB clients.
DMARC Expert fit an SMB or enterprise buyer that wants a structured expert relationship more than a high-speed self-serve enforcement queue. The MSSP path promised multi-user management, but public details around client counts and domain limits were not clear enough for a provider packaging recurring reports. Client handoff felt stronger when the deliverable was a consultant note or annual action plan rather than a reusable operating workflow.

What each tool feels like after 90 days of real use

skysnag.com logo
Skysnag

Best when the team can act on authentication findings directly

After 90 days, Skysnag felt like a product built for moving domains toward enforcement. The primary corporate domain reached a clear quarantine-ready plan once Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SendGrid, Mailchimp, and the support desk sender were classified, and the parked domain stayed easy to monitor because it had no legitimate traffic.
The strongest daily workflow was checking failures by source and deciding whether a domain needed DNS work or sender outreach. The weak spot was explanation quality for newer admins: the forwarded SPF failure and visible From mismatch were correct, but the operator still had to understand DMARC domain matching before deciding what to change.
Where it wins
Hosted SPF and MTA-STS reduced DNS sprawl
Spoof sample was easy to isolate
Marketing subdomain sources separated cleanly
Policy movement felt actionable
Where it lags
Volume limits needed confirmation
Beginner DNS language was uneven
Unknown sender ownership stayed manual
MSP pricing needed sales review

DMARC Expert

Best when expert review is part of the operating model

After 90 days, DMARC Expert felt like a monitoring and advisory product with security add-ons around it. The corporate domain and marketing subdomain were readable in reports, DNS change alerts were useful, and the support desk sender was easier to discuss in a scheduled review than through a live operating queue.
The tradeoff was pace. Mailchimp and SendGrid evidence was available, but getting from evidence to policy movement required more interpretation, and the parked domain did not get as much automated next-step guidance as it did in Skysnag. The lookalike-domain and takedown options made sense for fraud response, but they added buying complexity.

If you cannot decide between the two, maybe the answer is Suped

Suped dashboard
Guided owner fixes
Skysnag found the unknown sender quickly, but owner assignment still depended on our mail logs. Suped ties sending sources to remediation steps so the person responsible for Microsoft 365, SendGrid, Mailchimp, or support mail can act without re-reading raw reports.
Sharper alert routing
DMARC Expert's scheduled review model was useful, but it was slower for operational questions during the forwarded-mail and spoof tests. Suped focuses alerts on authentication changes, spoofing, and sender drift so teams can route the right issue before the next review cycle.
Clearer buying path
Both products left some limits to confirm: Skysnag on volume and domain expansion, DMARC Expert on caps and add-ons. Suped publishes starter pricing and MSP per-domain pricing, which makes small, medium, and client-managed rollouts easier to budget.
The difference was significant. We moved from limited visibility to a much clearer dashboard. Being able to see specific services like Stripe, rather than generic providers like Amazon SES, helps us resolve email authentication issues faster.
