Valimail scored higher where the workflow needed sender ownership, policy movement, and hosted authentication because Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SendGrid, and Mailchimp were easier to classify. Its weaker scores came from pricing opacity above Starter, limited MSP fit, and no blocklist or blacklist monitoring in the tested scope. DMARC Monitor scored better than expected on pricing clarity for published domain bands, but it lost ground on API access, hosted SPF and MTA-STS, alert routing, and source resolution.

Valimail gave us better service identification and enforcement tooling across Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SendGrid, and Mailchimp. DMARC Monitor covered reporting, review meetings, and cousin-domain checks, but several operational pieces stayed manual. If guided fixes and automatic issue detection are buying criteria, Suped should be measured alongside them because those gaps mattered during the spoof and unknown-sender cases.

Valimail handled Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace as recognizable core sources and broke SendGrid and Mailchimp into separate sending services instead of leaving them as raw IP clusters. The unknown sender was surfaced as unapproved with enough service context to assign an owner, and the SPF pass with visible From mismatch was easier to explain because the interface separated authentication result from DMARC match. DKIM pass on the marketing subdomain was visible, but the most useful subdomain controls sat above the basic monitoring tier.
DMARC Monitor parsed the same aggregate traffic into readable reporting and its cousin-domain view helped when we reviewed the parked domain and spoof sample. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace were clear enough, but SendGrid, Mailchimp, and the support desk sender needed more manual notes before we were confident they were approved. The forwarded mail SPF failure appeared as a failure pattern, but it did not give the same owner-ready explanation without cross-checking DKIM and receiver data.

Onboarding the three domains in Valimail took under an hour because the DNS steps were clear and the first dashboards populated in a predictable order. The unknown sender was found through the sender list and filtered by domain, while the forwarded mail SPF failure was easiest to explain after drilling into DKIM pass and receiver counts. The main UX drawback was that some useful drilldowns led to paid-tier boundaries.
DMARC Monitor's setup flow leaned on generated DNS records and service guidance, which worked but felt less immediate when we wanted to compare the primary domain with the marketing subdomain. The unknown sender was visible in the report data, but classification depended on notes outside the core workflow. The forwarded mail SPF failure was present, yet the product did not make the forwarder story obvious without manual explanation.

During setup, Valimail's DNS handoff was the clearest of the two: publish the DMARC reporting record, confirm approved senders, then decide whether hosted SPF and DKIM automation were in scope. Enterprise onboarding was easier to plan because dedicated account manager support, SSO, portfolios, and advanced alerting are mapped to higher tiers, even when exact pricing needed confirmation.
DMARC Monitor's support model felt more review-led. Bronze, Silver, and Gold include implementation, monitoring, reporting, standard support, and one review meeting, while Advance lists quarterly online review meetings. That is useful for teams that want periodic guidance, but escalation paths, SLA detail, and DNS ownership steps were not as explicit in public materials.

Account separation was workable through enterprise portfolio concepts, but our MSP-style handoff notes for multiple clients felt less natural than a dedicated client workspace. Recurring executive reporting helped, yet some details sat behind paid or custom tiers.
DMARC Monitor made more sense for SMBs or service teams with a defined list of active and inactive domains. The Bronze, Silver, and Gold domain counts were easy to map to client portfolios, and weekly scheduled reporting gave us a repeatable artifact. The limitation was account separation: the test did not expose strong tenant boundaries, role design, or client-ready handoff workflows beyond reports and review meetings.

DMARC Monitor felt more like a reporting service than a self-service enforcement console. The weekly reports were readable for the primary domain and parked domain, but the unknown sender needed manual classification and the forwarded SPF failure was easier to understand only after comparing receiver and DKIM results ourselves.
After 90 days, the published domain allowances were useful for budgeting, especially Bronze and Gold. The tradeoff was operational depth: no public API, no hosted SPF or MTA-STS workflow, and limited alert routing meant follow-up work stayed in tickets and spreadsheets.
