The TechTheft ISP Blacklist (isp.bl.techtheft.info) is a private, IP-based blacklist that lists network ranges belonging to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) that TechTheft considers to be under an "internet boycott". The listing policy is described as semi-automatic, with additions based on data collected from their spam and network attack traps. Any internet asset that interacts with these traps can be listed, including email servers, DNS nameservers, and entire network IP blocks.

A listing typically occurs when a network abuse complaint has been made and, according to TechTheft, has not been resolved. Their policy is to block on sight and they recommend users firewall listed IPs if possible. As this is a private blocklist, it is only available for internal use by their subscribers who are granted access by invitation only.

The blacklist is run by an organization called TechTheft. They describe their mission as a fight against "Hi-Technology Theft", which includes spam, viral attacks, DDoS attacks, and IP or PC hijacking. The group advocates for a strong stance against sources of internet abuse, what they term an "Internet Death Penalty", which involves cutting off offending sources and their supporters entirely. They aim to provide a collaboration point for others who wish to help combat technology abuse.

Removal from this blocklist is contingent on resolving the underlying issues that led to the listing. The core principle is that once the source of the abuse is stopped and all boycott conditions are met, the listing will be removed automatically. TechTheft provides a way to see open complaints related to your IP to help identify the problem.

Before requesting delisting, you should take the following steps:

• Investigate the cause: Use the information provided by TechTheft regarding open complaints to find the root cause of the listing. This could be a compromised machine, a misconfigured server, or an abusive user on your network.
• Resolve all issues: Fix every active complaint and remove the source of the abuse completely.
• Ensure a proper abuse contact: You must have a functioning abuse@yourdomain... email address for both your IP's network and your domain name. This address must be monitored so that all future complaints can be handled quickly.

There is no manual delisting link or process. The removal is automatic once all abuse complaints are resolved.

The impact of being listed on the TechTheft ISP Blacklist is generally low. This is because it is a private blacklist (or blocklist) available only to subscribers who are invited to use it. Therefore, your email deliverability will only be affected if you are trying to send emails to a recipient whose organization specifically subscribes to and uses this list to filter incoming mail. For the vast majority of email providers and recipients, this specific listing will have no impact.
