Does the email tester change my DNS or email setup?

No. It receives a test message, inspects the headers and related DNS records, then reports what happened.

How does the email tester work?

It gives you a unique address. Send an email to that address, then the report checks the delivered message, authentication results, DNS records, sending IP, blocklists, reverse DNS, TLS and unsubscribe headers.

Why test a real email instead of only checking DNS?

DNS checks show what is published. A real email test shows what your sending provider actually used, which IP delivered the message, which DKIM selector signed it, and whether SPF, DKIM and DMARC aligned.

What DMARC checks are included?

The tester checks the domain's DMARC record, policy, reporting setup, external reporting authorization, and whether the received message passed DMARC.

What SPF checks are included?

The tester checks the SPF record for the return path domain, lookup limits, include issues, unsafe mechanisms, whether SPF passed for the sending IP, and whether SPF aligned with the From domain.

What DKIM checks are included?

The tester checks DKIM selectors found on the message, validates their DNS records, checks key quality, reports whether signatures passed, and shows whether a passing signature aligned with the From domain.

What blocklist checks are included?

The tester checks the sending IP, visible From domain, return path domain and HELO domain against email blocklists that can affect acceptance or spam placement.

What reverse DNS checks are included?

The tester checks whether the sending IP has a PTR record and whether the HELO or EHLO hostname matches that reverse DNS hostname.

What encryption checks are included?

The tester checks whether the SMTP connection used TLS and whether the negotiated TLS version is modern enough, such as TLS 1.2 or TLS 1.3.

What unsubscribe checks are included?

For marketing email, the tester checks for List-Unsubscribe, one-click unsubscribe support, a mailto fallback, and a visible unsubscribe link in the message body.

Can I share an email tester report?

Yes. After a test message arrives, use the share link to send the same report to a teammate, client, or provider.

How do I monitor results over time?
