vs.
We tested PowerDMARC and DMARC Expert for 90 days across a corporate domain, a marketing subdomain, and a parked domain, with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SendGrid, Mailchimp, and a support desk sender connected. PowerDMARC felt stronger for teams that want self-serve depth and enforcement planning; DMARC Expert felt better for buyers who value expert review, reputation checks, and annual action planning.

Choose by operating model, not brand preference

Pick PowerDMARC if
Best for teams that want a broad DMARC platform
Three test domains were active in one setup session, with the parked domain easy to keep at monitoring policy.
Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SendGrid, and Mailchimp became named sources quickly after reports arrived.
Hosted DMARC and MTA-STS reduced DNS record handling, but hosted SPF moved into add-on or higher-tier territory.
Free plan available
Pick DMARC Expert if
Best for teams that want expert review and reputation checks
Premium combined DMARC reporting with Google Postmaster alerts and blacklist (blocklist) checks.
The yearly action-plan model worked for our parked domain and corporate domain review, but daily classification was slower.
The forwarded SPF failure was explained well during review, while the unknown sender still needed manual ownership notes.
From EUR 105 / month
Consider Suped if
A third option for guided fixes, hosted records, and simpler ownership
Guided fixes matter when the same source can pass DKIM on a subdomain but fail SPF after forwarding.
Automated issue detection and higher-quality alerts reduce time spent sorting spoof samples and unknown senders.
Published starter pricing and MSP workflows help teams price domains before a sales conversation.

Ten dimensions, scored from 0 to 10

The scores use a fixed editorial rubric across the same 90-day test. Higher is better in every row, and unsupported capability scores were set to 0.0 when the product did not provide the capability being scored.

PowerDMARC leads on platform depth; DMARC Expert holds up where expert review matters.

PowerDMARC scored higher on enforcement movement, hosted authentication, source resolution, and time to an enforcement plan because we could move from the three-domain setup to a defensible policy sequence without waiting for a consulting cycle. DMARC Expert scored well where reputation checks, Webex review, and annual action plans helped, but it lost points for source classification speed, API clarity, hosted MTA-STS, and pricing detail. Neither product removed all manual work around the forwarded SPF failure or the unknown support desk sender.

Feature set

Platform depth vs expert coverage

PowerDMARC has more built-in depth. DMARC Expert has useful reputation coverage.

PowerDMARC covered more of the DMARC enforcement and hosted authentication workflow inside the product, while DMARC Expert added reputation checks and expert-written action plans. The buying criterion we would add is guided fixes and automated issue detection, because Suped's product is built to reduce the gap between seeing a failure and assigning the fix.

Unknown sender needed notes
PowerDMARC had the broader email authentication feature set in our 90-day test. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace appeared as recognizable senders within the first report cycle, and SendGrid plus Mailchimp were grouped cleanly after we approved their DKIM selectors. The DKIM pass on the marketing subdomain was shown as a subdomain case rather than hidden under the root domain, which made policy movement safer. The unknown support desk sender still needed owner notes, but the source view gave us enough evidence to classify it without exporting raw XML.
DMARC Expert covered the same core DMARC report review, but it leaned more on expert-written action plans and add-on detection services. Google Postmaster spam alerts and blacklist/blocklist checks were useful for reputation review, and the Microsoft 365 connector story was better around suspicious-domain blocking than daily DMARC triage. SendGrid and Mailchimp were visible, but our unknown sender sat as a generic source until we added manual notes. The forwarded mail with SPF failure was explained correctly during review, but the path to remediation was less direct inside the product.

User experience

Operator speed vs scheduled clarity

PowerDMARC is quicker day to day. DMARC Expert is easier when review cadence matters.

PowerDMARC gave us more control during daily triage, especially when we moved between the three test domains. DMARC Expert had a slower operating loop, but the scheduled review style made it easier to explain findings to less technical buyers.

Webex review added clarity
Unknown sender required notes
Forwarded SPF explained manually
PowerDMARC let us add the primary corporate domain, marketing subdomain, and parked domain without a long setup path. The domain selector kept policy state visible, and the unknown sender was found through source filters after the first few report batches. The forwarded mail with SPF failure was present in the data, but we still had to write the explanation ourselves because the issue looked similar to a normal SPF fail at first glance.
DMARC Expert was calmer, but slower for daily work. The setup steps were clear once the reporting address was in place, and the expert review helped explain why forwarded Microsoft 365 mail failed SPF while still passing DKIM. The unknown support desk sender was not turned into an owner-ready task inside the product, so our handoff notes mattered more.

Support

Self serve vs scheduled help

PowerDMARC responds well during setup. DMARC Expert depends more on planned expert time.

PowerDMARC was better when we wanted quick DNS handoff and escalation during configuration. DMARC Expert was more structured when the work fit scheduled Webex sessions, especially for reputation and deliverability review.

DNS handoff was direct

Enterprise scope needed quote
dmarc-expert.com logo
DMARC Expert

Webex sessions were useful
DNS review was consultative
MSSP terms needed quote
PowerDMARC support expectations were clearer on the platform side. DNS setup for the three domains gave us copyable records, and support could step in when the Google Workspace SPF include was missing or when the support desk DKIM selector needed proof. Enterprise onboarding had more quote-dependent details, but the path for escalation during setup was visible.
DMARC Expert put more value into expert time. The Premium plan's two Webex sessions fit our need to review the forwarded SPF failure, blacklist (blocklist) status, and DNS change alerts, but urgent daily questions had less self-serve guidance. Enterprise onboarding sounded more consultative, though exact support-session counts and high-volume terms needed confirmation.

Suitability

Enterprise suite vs expert service

PowerDMARC fits platform buyers. DMARC Expert fits teams wanting expert review.

PowerDMARC is the better fit for teams that want a broad platform and can own the operating model. DMARC Expert is better when the buyer wants scheduled expert review and reputation monitoring. For MSPs and lean teams, alert quality, client separation, and repeatable handoff are buying criteria; Suped's product is built to make those workflows explicit.

Consulting suits SMBs
MSSP tier lacks detail
Annual plans guide handoff
PowerDMARC fit enterprise and MSP-style work better in our test because domain groups, bulk domain add, and partner capability matched a multi-domain rollout. It handled the primary domain, subdomain, and parked domain as a portfolio, and recurring reporting gave us material for internal review. The weak spot was client handoff friction: when we simulated multiple owners, notes and account switching still needed discipline.
DMARC Expert fit SMB and operator-light teams better when the priority was periodic review rather than daily operation. The annual action-plan model made sense for a company that wants a specialist to review SPF, DKIM, DMARC, blacklist (blocklist) status, and domain reputation on a schedule. For MSP work, the MSSP tier existed, but public details on client counts, volume limits, and handoff reporting were not clear enough to plan margin.

What each tool feels like after 90 days of real use

powerdmarc.com logo
PowerDMARC

For teams owning DMARC internally

After 90 days, PowerDMARC felt like a platform for teams that want to drive DMARC enforcement themselves. We could move between the corporate domain, marketing subdomain, and parked domain without losing the policy view, and the approved sender list made Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SendGrid, Mailchimp, and the support desk easier to review.
Where it slowed us down was turning decisions into owner-ready notes. The forwarded SPF failure and visible From mismatch needed written explanation outside the screen, and some advanced alerts, exports, and managed records moved us toward paid tiers or quotes.

DMARC Expert

For buyers wanting expert review

After 90 days, DMARC Expert felt like a service-backed DMARC workflow. The product helped us see DNS changes, Google Postmaster signals, blacklist (blocklist) checks, and spoofed address detection, while the expert plan structure made sense for buyers who want periodic review rather than daily self-serve tuning.
It was less efficient for day-to-day operator work. The unknown sender needed manual classification notes, SendGrid and Mailchimp were not as quickly resolved into owner-ready actions, and the forwarded mail SPF failure was clearer after review than it was inside the reporting flow.

If you cannot decide between the two, maybe the answer is Suped

Suped dashboard
Guided fix ownership
In our test, PowerDMARC and DMARC Expert both identified the unknown support desk sender, but owner assignment still needed notes. Suped's workflow is built around sender identification, guided fixes, and handoff so the next action is visible.
Alert noise control
PowerDMARC alert routing depended on higher-tier capability, while DMARC Expert leaned on scheduled review and DNS or reputation alerts. Suped is built for actionable alerts that point to the affected domain, source, and failure type.
MSP-ready reporting
PowerDMARC had partner tooling but client switching felt heavier; DMARC Expert's MSSP plan had limited public detail. Suped has account separation, recurring reports, and per-domain MSP pricing for clearer client handoff.
The difference was significant. We moved from limited visibility to a much clearer dashboard. Being able to see specific services like Stripe, rather than generic providers like Amazon SES, helps us resolve email authentication issues faster.
