On the primary domain, Postmark's weekly email identified Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, then showed SendGrid and Mailchimp as top sources after the marketing subdomain started sending. The unknown support desk sender appeared as an IP group rather than a clear service name, so we had to match headers and timestamps ourselves. The SPF pass with visible From mismatch was visible as a failed authentication pattern, but the digest did not explain owner action or separate it from routine failures.
Barracuda separated Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SendGrid, and Mailchimp into named sending services during the first review pass, then let us mark the support desk sender as approved after DNS proof. Its report drilldown handled the DKIM pass on a subdomain and the forwarded mail SPF failure with more useful context than the weekly digest. The unauthorized spoof sample was easier to isolate because the view kept sender identity, domain grouping, and policy impact together.

For Postmark, the primary domain setup was quick: create the DMARC TXT record, verify reporting, and wait for the first weekly digest. The marketing subdomain and parked domain did not feel like one workspace, so we kept our own notes to compare behavior across the three test domains. When the unknown sender appeared, the digest gave us enough signal to investigate, but explaining the forwarded mail SPF failure required manual header review.
Barracuda's onboarding had more steps, especially for the standalone parked domain and DNS handoff, but the domain list was easier to manage after setup. Microsoft 365-connected domains were smoother than standalone domains, and the unknown sender was easier to find because source status and policy impact were in the same place. The forwarded mail SPF failure was clearer because the product separated forwarding behavior from a direct spoof attempt.

With Postmark, setup help was enough for a technical operator who already understood DMARC records and reporting addresses. The DNS handoff was simple for the primary domain, but there was no structured escalation path when we needed to explain the support desk sender or brief a non-technical owner on the forwarded SPF failure. For the free workflow, support expectations stayed closer to documentation and self-service.
Barracuda made more sense when we treated the test like an enterprise rollout with security, DNS, and messaging owners involved. The DNS verification steps were more formal, and the support path was easier to describe to stakeholders who expected escalation and onboarding structure. That helped when we discussed enforcement movement, though it also meant the first week needed more calendar time.

Postmark was useful for an SMB or owner-led team watching one domain, especially the parked domain where any traffic was suspicious. It was weaker for MSP-style delivery because account separation, client grouping, and recurring reporting across the primary domain and marketing subdomain had to be managed outside the product. Client handoff notes also stayed manual, which increased the risk that the support desk sender would be approved without enough context.
Barracuda was a better match for enterprise teams because domain grouping, approved-source review, and escalation were closer to how security teams already work. It also handled the three-domain setup with more discipline than an email-only digest, but MSP client handoff still needed process around recurring reports and owner notes. After 90 days, Barracuda felt closer to an enterprise email security workflow than a lightweight DMARC inbox report. Microsoft 365-connected domains appeared with less manual setup, while the standalone parked domain still required DNS verification and a more formal handoff.
