Valimail presents a robust feature set centered on DMARC enforcement and automation. Its core strength lies in simplifying complex DMARC implementation, particularly for organizations with numerous sending sources. We've found their precision sender intelligence quite effective at identifying legitimate and unauthorized senders.
The platform excels in automated SPF and DKIM management, significantly reducing manual effort. While features like BIMI are broadly available, more advanced capabilities such as custom metadata, source IP visibility, and advanced security configurations are primarily reserved for their higher-tier (Enterprise) plans.
URIports offers a comprehensive array of features that extend beyond basic DMARC monitoring, incorporating a broader spectrum of reporting for web and email. We appreciate its detailed data enrichment with geocoding, hostname lookup, and Whois information, which provides a deeper context for anomalies.
Key differentiators include hosted MTA-STS, TLS-RPT, and DNS monitoring, which are crucial for a holistic email security posture. While it provides detailed reports and custom block rules, the overall approach feels more geared towards informed manual action rather than Valimail's heavy automation.

User experience

Valimail’s user interface is generally intuitive and well-organized, especially for DMARC reporting. We found the dashboards provide clear, digestible insights into email traffic, making it easier to track DMARC compliance progress. The automated setup for SPF, DKIM, and DMARC is a significant advantage, streamlining the initial configuration process.
However, some users might find that accessing or fully utilizing more advanced features, particularly those outside the core DMARC enforcement flow, requires a bit more digging. The organization of certain features can sometimes feel counter-intuitive, necessitating a learning curve even after prolonged use.
URIports boasts a slick and easy-to-use interface, which we can attest to. Its strength lies in providing advanced DMARC explanation tools and clear navigation through various report types. The ability to search, filter, and deep dive into reporting data is well-implemented, offering granular control over analysis.
While its broad feature set is valuable, mastering all the nuances across DMARC, CSP, NEL, and other policies might take some time. However, the core DMARC monitoring and reporting functions are straightforward for even less technical users, though it does require a more hands-on approach compared to Valimail's automation.
Which product has the best support

Support

First comparison imageSecond comparison image
Valimail consistently receives praise for its customer support, especially during the onboarding phase. We found their team to be responsive and helpful, providing guided assistance for setup and addressing queries. Onboarding assistance is included from the Starter tier upwards, which is a definite plus for smoother implementation.
Higher tiers (Premium and Enterprise) offer additional support options such as Valicare, Valicare+, and dedicated/technical account managers. While basic knowledgebase articles are available to all, the hands-on support significantly contributes to a more confident DMARC journey, albeit at a higher cost.
URIports includes basic product support across all subscriptions, which covers fundamental inquiries and troubleshooting. We found their documentation to be quite thorough, allowing for self-service problem solving in many instances. The clarity of their interface also reduces the need for frequent support interactions.
For users requiring more in-depth assistance, "In-Depth Premium Support" is a feature only available in their highest tier, the Himalaya plan. This structure means that smaller businesses or those on lower tiers will rely primarily on basic support and their own technical acumen, which is typical for a more budget-friendly offering.

Suitability

Valimail is particularly well-suited for enterprise-level organizations and larger businesses with complex email ecosystems. Its automated DMARC enforcement and extensive feature set are designed to handle a high volume of email senders and domains, providing peace of mind through a hands-off approach to email authentication. For organizations where security compliance and automation are paramount, Valimail shines.
While Valimail's Monitor product offers a free tier, its paid offerings can be a significant investment, often making it less accessible for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) unless they have a critical need for advanced automation and extensive support. For Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Valimail's multi-domain management and robust reporting could be beneficial, but the cost structure would need careful consideration.
URIports caters to a broader audience, from individual users and small businesses (SMBs) to larger enterprises, thanks to its flexible and tiered pricing structure. Its detailed reporting, comprehensive protocol support (including MTA-STS and TLS-RPT), and domain bundles make it highly suitable for organizations looking for granular control and a deeper understanding of their email and web security.
For MSPs, URIports' expandable domain options and team access features present a scalable solution for managing multiple clients. Enterprise clients can leverage its extensive reporting and integration capabilities, especially those prioritizing detailed insights and broader security monitoring. The balance between cost and features makes it a strong contender for those who appreciate robust tools without needing full automation at every turn.

Drawbacks and what to watch out for

When considering the drawbacks, Valimail's primary concern often revolves around its pricing, which can be steep for smaller organizations, and a slight learning curve for advanced features. URIports, while budget-friendly, may require more manual oversight for comprehensive DMARC management and its premium support is reserved for the highest tiers.
We have pulled the average ratings from G2 for each product, and also included the most recent negative reviews for each product in full. Positive reviews tend to have less detail and have a higher chance of being fraudulent, so negative reviews are a better signal for your decision.

Easy DMARC Monitoring But Not Great
What do you like best about Valimail? Valimail is pretty simple to setup and use. We were wanting to monitor some changes to DMARC, and Valimail was the platform we ultimately decided to use. What do you dislike about Valimail? A few things I don't like: 1. The free vs premium features are frustrating. I can't see enough value from free to validate a move to premium. 2. The Sender Requirement Failure feature is in beta and never really works. I can't only get it to work if I expand it before a week, and even then it's hit-or-miss. 3. It doesn't really do enough. Other platforms I've tried did a better job at helping to explain the WHY and HOW rather than just the what. Valimail primarily focuses on the WHAT. 4. Some of the feature organization is weird within the app, even after having used it for a few months. I can get more value in the account overview than the sender requirements failure, which is counter-intuitive IMO. What problems is Valimail solving and how is that benefiting you? We had a baselevel view of email security when I was initially hired and wanted to monitor the DMARC changes effectively.

No G2 reviews
G2 is the most popular review platform for DMARC products, so this is a strong signal that this product is not popular.
I like Valimail - mostly.
What do you like best about Valimail? Good interface for viewing DMARC reporting information. What do you dislike about Valimail? Price, it'd be nice if they could institute a model based on volume rather than the number of email domains. What problems is Valimail solving and how is that benefiting you? Valimail provides DMARC provides good aggregate reporting for our email domains, allowing us to implement to the eventual reject policy goal.

Straightforward onboarding
What do you like best about Valimail? Ease of set-up and great customer support. What do you dislike about Valimail? Some features aren't as developed as some competitors, however ultimately it's up to each organization to decide the value of those features. What problems is Valimail solving and how is that benefiting you? Being able to report on DMARC successes and failures, to help us fine-tune the configuration to ensure each domain is correctly configured.

Valimail Simplifies DMARC Management, But Watch for Vendor Lock-In
What do you like best about Valimail? My favorite thing about Valimail is having a single portal that puts all DMARC reports into an easy to understand view. Having this information allowed us to identify hundreds of 3rd party email sources sending on behalf of our domain. Doing this without such a portal would be incredibly difficult especially in a franchise setting like ours where we have more services sending on behalf of our domain than most other companies. What do you dislike about Valimail? Valimail isn't cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. I also grow concerned about vendor lock-in now that I have setup Valimail to handle DMARC, SPF and DKIM with no exist strategy. What problems is Valimail solving and how is that benefiting you? Valimail solves the problem of visibility into who is sending on our behalf and makes identifying them easy.

A Must-Have for Email Security
What do you like best about Valimail? The best thing about Valimail is its fully automation feature as we can get the reports automated with whole monthly data . As I prepare reports every month in which I have to include the malicious email data so I do not need to manually check each single thing , the Valimail does it for itself. What do you dislike about Valimail? The thing which I dislike about Valimai is that its little expensive especially for the businesses which are small nd not much expanded . What problems is Valimail solving and how is that benefiting you? The problem which Valimail is solving for me is the manual effort for exporting the data related to spam emails and its security checks are the best .It filters out the emails properly and which are suspicious , they get rejected easily .
