Valimail identified Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace cleanly after the first aggregate reports landed, and it grouped SendGrid and Mailchimp under recognizable services without requiring reverse DNS work. The same-domain SPF pass and DKIM pass on the marketing subdomain were easy to read, but the unknown support desk sender needed manual ownership notes before we trusted it for policy movement. Its strongest feature set is hosted SPF, DKIM, and DMARC enforcement rather than broad security reporting.
Sendmarc gave us more breadth around the same sender set. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace were straightforward, SendGrid and Mailchimp sat alongside DNS checks, failure reports, blocklist (blacklist) reporting, MTA-STS/TLS reporting, and the unknown sender workflow. The SPF pass with visible from mismatch was easier to explain to a non-DMARC owner because the UI kept authentication status and domain risk close together.

Finding the unknown sender took more clicks than expected, and explaining the forwarded mail SPF failure required a drilldown into receiver behavior rather than a plain remediation path.
Sendmarc's onboarding had more hand-holding in the interface and support rhythm, with the three domains organized in a way that worked for an MSP-style review. The enterprise path was clearer than the SMB path, with account manager and technical support expectations tied to higher tiers; the free workflow left more interpretation on our side when a sender owner needed help.
Sendmarc's support flow was more active during the same setup, especially for classifying the support desk sender and talking through when the corporate domain was ready for stricter policy. Account separation existed through portfolio-style workflows, but recurring client reporting and MSP handoff notes felt less central than domain enforcement.
Sendmarc was better suited to the MSP and SMB scenario in our test. The marketing subdomain and parked domain were easier to group for client review, recurring reports were easier to package, and the unknown sender classification created a cleaner handoff trail for a non-specialist account owner.
